Formal inauguration of the Institute was held in the hands of its founder director Prof. H.V. Kumbhojkar, Prof. D.H. Rao, Principal, Gogte Institute of Technology, Belgaum presided over this function. A special lecture on this occasion was arranged, and it was delivered by Prof. S.S. Bhoosnurmath, Chairman Department of Mathematics, who spoke on ‘Riemann Hypothesis’ – a CMI Million prize problem. The event was hosted by the Department of Mathematics, Karnatak University Post-Graduate center Belgaum. January 23rd 2003
